Brief Bio and Testimonial: Priyanka Mahara hails from Thuvamara village in Champawat District. Despite facing significant challenges due to her speech and hearing disability and the associated social stigma, Priyanka completed her intermediate education. Initially hesitant about joining the NIACE Foundation's training program for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) in Haldwani, Priyanka and her parents eventually agreed after a counselling session. She successfully completed the training and is now employed as a Front Office Executive at Taj Corbett Resort & Spa, Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. Priyanka's mother shares their journey with immense pride: "जब प्रियंका के बारे में हमे पता चला कि हमारी बेटी सब बच्चों से अलग है तो समय के साथ हमें काफी कठिन परिस्थितियों का सामना करना पड़ा. हमें प्रियंका की पढ़ाई लिखाई में भी काफी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा! फिर हमें NIACE फाउंडेशन DDU - GKY से कॉल आया और जानकारी प्राप्त हुई की उनके द्वारा दिव्यांग बच्चों को निशुल्क प्रशिक्षण दिया जा रहा है. पहले तो हमने मना कर दिया फिर उनके द्वारा कि गई काउंसलिंग के बाद हमने प्रियंका का दाखिला करवाया! जिसके बाद उसने सैंपलिंग टेलर कोर्स में ट्रेनिंग ली उसके बाद संस्था की ओर से ताज रिजॉर्ट में जॉब प्लेसमेंट कराया गया. आज हमें प्रियंका को देखकर बहुत खुशी होती है और गर्व महसूस होता है. हम NIACE Foundation और DDU-GKY का तहे दिल से धन्यवाद करते हैं!
